What To Expect?

We've taken on the challenge of how caregivers and families view each other.  We are aware that having a personal caregiver is a luxury and we want our caregivers to show up in a professional way that speaks to the nature of this arrangement.

We also expect our caregivers to perform in a manner that showcases their skills, training, and experienced background. This is how we will build the bridge that brings meaningful experiences to all parties involved.

Does My Nanny Do Household Chores?

No. Unless previously discussed, caregivers are there to care for the children. All household arrangements should be discussed prior as the main objective is to give care and nurture in a safe and educational environment.

Does My Nanny Care For Pets?

No. We understand that pets are a part of your family, however, they are not the children our caregivers intended to care for. With that said, some caregivers are ok with pets and caring for them as well. Pet care should be discussed prior to an agreement and compensation should be indicated in the agreement. We ask that families are mindful that some caregivers may have fear, phobias, or allergies around certain pets. These conversations should be had prior to an arrangement.

Does My Nanny Use Their Own Vehicle?

This is not recommended. However, this can be discussed with the caregiver prior to an arrangement. We strongly recommend that both parties consult their respective insurance carriers for more information.

Does My Nanny Care Come With Us On Vacation?

They can! All vacation arrangements should be discussed prior to an agreement. If a caregiver goes with you to work on vacation they are still at work and should be compensated. It is important to note that this is not a vacation for the caregiver. You should discuss whether the caregiver will work regular hours, weekends, flight costs, accommodations, drive on vacation, meals, downtime, and days off.

Caregivers are not required to take a vacation when your family is on vacation. If your caregiver is off while you are away and did not request time off, they should be compensated for work misses due to no fault of their own.

Does My Nanny Need To Show Proof Of Experience Or Credentials?

Yes! All caregivers are required to show current experience and credentials. All state-regulated credentials must be up-to-date at all times during employment.

Can My Nanny Be Terminated?

Subject to certain exceptions, the bill concerning domestic workers requires employers to provide domestic workers whom they have employed for at least 90 days with either advance written termination notice or severance pay. Regular domestic workers must receive the notice at least seven days in advance and live-in-domestic workers at least 14 days in advance.

Visit the U.S. government website for more details and information on employment discrimination and harassment.

Does My Nanny Get A Background Check?

Yes! All caregivers are subject to a state-recommended background check. If they do not wish to consent to a background check we will not be able to move forward with a childcare employment position with us until one can be completed.

Are You An Equal Opportunity Company?

Yes. We welcome all families to seek our services and we encourage all qualified caregivers to submit their interest. Among other things, the domestic bill of Rights provides the covered domestic workers with the following: Protection against employment-related discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, nationality, origin, ancestry, or mental or physical disability.
